    Bio-Active Rooibos

    Aspalathus Linearis
    The therapeutic power of the rooibos plant has known for centuries for its healing and soothing properties. From the green, unfermented needle-like leaves that grow only in the Cederberg region of the Western Cape, scientists have produced a powerful bio-active extract rich in antioxidants, one of which - aspalathin - is unique to rooibos.

    Aloe Barbadensis
    Also known as Aloe Vera, the liquid from the fleshy leaves of this succulent has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Known for its skin-soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, Aloe also helps protect skin from UV damage. It contains Vitamins A, B, C and E, to counteract the effects of free radicals, enzymes, amino acids and minerals important in skin renewal and collagen regeneration.

    Mild, gentle, yet extremely efficient, ground apricot seeds are used in our exfoliating products instead of the commonly used synthetic microbeads that pollute rivers and oceans. Removes dry and aged layers of skin, while improving blood circulation for smooth, silky skin.

    Adansonia Digitata
    One of the most magnificent trees in Africa, the Baobab produces oil from its seeds that is non-irritating and non-allergenic, excellent for soothing and restoring moisture to the skin. It contains vitamins A and F (rejuvenation and cell renewal), and vitamin E (antioxidant and anti-ageing effects). Often used for treating eczema and psoriasis.

    This natural plant extract is high in linoleic acid and phytosterols. It is known to soothe and moisturise skin, assist in replenishing the skin’s protective barrier and the renewal of cell membranes. Barley is often used to treat dry and itchy skin.

    Neem seed oil has been used in India for thousands of years to treat skin ailments such as eczema and psoriasis, and for cosmetic moisturising and Aruveydic medicinal purposes. Neem oil is an excellent moisturiser, high in Vitamin E, rich in emollients and fatty acids, soothing dry, cracked, stressed and damaged skin.

    Squalene is a naturally occurring substance found in olives. Our skin contains 12% squalene, which is the main lipid, natural emollient, moisturiser and skin antioxidant. Over time, natural squalene declines, leading to a loss of suppleness and glow, more wrinkles and dark brown spots.

With peptides so small they can penetrate into the skin, Sea Fennel is rich in minerals and vitamins A, C, E, with antioxidant, antiseptic, toning, skin-conditioning, and soothing properties. It is also thought to increase local blood circulation and the production of collagen and elastin.

    Harvested from the nuts of this African tree, Shea Butter has been used for millennia to protect the skin from the sun and dehydration, as well as to protect minor cuts and burns. Shea Butter contains essential unsaturated fats, essential fatty acids, phytosterols, vitamin E and D, provitamin A and allantoin.

    Acmella Oleracea
    Also known as the ‘toothache plant’, this extract is considered a natural alternative to Botox. Thanks to analgesic alkalamides called spilanthol, it’s thought to have a mild paralysing effect on the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles by smoothing the skin. It’s an exciting development in skin-care science and patents are being developed to use Acmella as a safe alternative to toxic Botox.

    Extract from the bark of the witch-hazel shrub indigenous to North America, this natural extract has proven astringent, toning, and anti-inflammatory effects, dissolving excess sebum without stripping skin.
